We've Been Told There's a Formula
We've all seen them. The articles promising the ten pieces every woman needs. The perfectly curated capsule wardrobe checklists that suggest if you own the right blazer, white shirt and jeans, getting dressed becomes effortless.
There's certainly value in owning fewer, better pieces. But I don't believe every wardrobe should look the same.
A Thoughtful Wardrobe Looks Different for Everyone
After years of designing clothing and working with women of different ages, lifestyles and body shapes, I've learnt that wardrobes work best when they're personal. Some women wear linen shirts every week. Others live in relaxed trousers. Some reach for dresses, while others never wear them.
The question isn't whether a piece belongs on someone else's capsule wardrobe list. It's whether it belongs in yours.
Building a Capsule Wardrobe That Fits Your Life
A thoughtful wardrobe begins with understanding how you actually live.
What do you wear repeatedly?
What feels comfortable?
What gives you confidence?
What still feels right six months or even six years later?
Those answers are far more valuable than following someone else's formula. A well-considered capsule wardrobe isn't about owning identical pieces. It's about investing in quality wardrobe essentials that suit your lifestyle and continue to earn their place over time.

Why Natural Fibres Matter
At Twill & Tee, every design begins with the fabric. Natural fibres like linen, cotton and cupro don't just feel beautiful to wear; they soften with time, breathe naturally and are designed to move through seasons rather than trends.
When combined with considered fit and thoughtful construction, they become the kind of clothing that quietly becomes part of your everyday wardrobe.
Slow Fashion Means Building, Not Replacing
For us, slow fashion isn't about creating a perfectly curated wardrobe overnight. It's about building one thoughtfully. Adding pieces over time. Choosing clothing that layers naturally with what you already own. Buying less, wearing more, and keeping garments for years rather than seasons. That's why we release small collections throughout the year instead of chasing constant newness. Every piece is designed to integrate into an existing wardrobe rather than replace it.
Wear What Works for You
The goal isn't to build the perfect capsule wardrobe. It's to build your wardrobe. One that reflects your lifestyle, your routine and the pieces you genuinely enjoy wearing. Because the clothes you reach for most are rarely the ones someone else told you to own.
They're the ones that simply feel right.
